Software Engineer I - II
Description of Position
Description & Responsibilities of Position:
This position is a hands-on
IT position requiring technical expertise to effectively support the project’s
technology functions. The candidate must
have a strong dedication to customer service, a strong work ethic; display
initiative, strong problem solving analysis and a sense of urgency in
completing assigned tasks.
Required Experience:
· 1 - 5 years
experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and JQuery.
· Experience
performing software tasks including detailed design, requirements analysis and
implementation.
· Experience
performing hands-on software development, utilizing good coding standards and
practices, configuration management processes, meeting test criteria, and well
documented deliverables.
· Experience using
problem tracking tools, baseline management tools, and requirements capture
tools.
· 5+ years experience in a few of the same or
similar technologies:
Creating
RPMs and S/W Builds
Monitoring
Tools: HP-OpenView, Zenoss
JAVA,
J2EE, JMX, JMS, JSP Servlets, JSF
Web
Services: XML, SOAP (WSDL), Schema (XSD)
Web: HTML, JavaScript
WebLogic,
Apache Tomcat, Apache Server
Eclipse
Hibernate
JUNIT
Hudson
Nexus/Maven
Subversion
Trac
ClearCase/ClearQuest
Bash
Rally
· Experience
with collaborative programming.
· Experience
working with some type of code repository, such as SVN.
· Experience
with Puppet preferred, but not required.
· Excellent verbal
and written communication skills
· Ability to work
independently with minimum supervision, as well as work effectively on a team
with other personnel
Clearance: Candidates must have TS/SCI clearance with
full scope poly.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in
Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or similar degree and meet the
experience requirement or equivalent documented combination of training and
experience (or have 6 years over the required
years experience for the labor category).

Security Clearance: Top Secret with Lifestyle Polygraph
Location: MD, Laurel/Ft Meade area
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.
