Web Developers/Visual Designers
Description of Position
The Visual Designer/Artist will plan,
analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems in
collaboration with large design teams. The Visual Designer will be
responsible for collaborating closely with other team members to design and
deliver the most effective way to get messages across in electronic media using
a variety of methods such as color, type, illustration, photography, animation
and various print and layout techniques.
Required Skills:
· Must
have at least 6 years experience designing, developing, updating and maintaining
graphics for graphical user interfaces, web sites and applications.
· Must
have at least six years experience with the use of the Adobe Creative Suite.
· Must
have worked on large, diverse project teams for mission-critical web and
software application projects and have a portfolio of work available.
· Must
have experience doing user-centered design.
· Must
be able to build code and maintain sites to be section 508 compliant for
accessibility by end users using screen reader or similar tools to listen to rather
than view page contents and perform job functions.
· Must
interact effectively with customers, stakeholders, subject matter experts,
system engineers, business analysts, usability engineers, information
architects, other designers, other developers, software architects, and
technical writers.
Desired Skills:
Web site/page creation
tools such as HTML, CSS, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash or similar
Bachelors degree preferred

Location: MD, Laurel/Ft Meade area
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.
