Subject Matter Expert level 2 (SME2)

Description of Position

 

Work location is onsite (both NSAW and the Department of the Treasury in Washington, DC)

 

Task Description:

 

·        Provide subject matter expertise in financial data analysis.

 

·        Utilizes financial knowledge and experience in the areas of fund clearance and settlements, fund transfers and international funds transfers and reconciliation.

 

·        Applies research skills to the challenge of data mining and evaluation of large databases.

 

·        Demonstrates expert knowledge and use of MS Excel database tools and applications.

 

·        Develop, test and implement both straightforward and novel analytic approaches to data set analysis with a view to uncovering unknown facts about targets reflected therein.

 

·        Familiarity with data parsing of unstructured data utilizing Visual Basic or other data parsing applications or tools would be useful.

 

·       Familiarity with SIGINT reporting tools, capabilities and guideline with the end goal of developing target focused intelligence reporting for dissemination to customers would be helpful.

 

·       Interact routinely with customers and both internal and external colleagues as appropriate to coordinate efforts understand requirements and target space and educate others on host organization unique mission.

 

·        Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

 

·        Communicates with individuals and organizations who maintain data feeds.

 

·        Requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

 

 

Task Deliverables:

 

·        Increase usability of information contained in databases.

 

·        Document and store in a centralized file the concepts and specific mechanics of the analytic approaches used and a best practice approach.

 

·        Produce intelligence reports in volume and frequency as assigned by host organization.

 

·        Research and analyze data set to provide recommendations for improvements as needed.

 

·        Brief or provide input to ad hoc briefings and assessments to customers and external enterprise as needed or when requested.

 

·        Attend VTC’s and off-site meetings in DC when required to maintain awareness and maintain working relationship with IC customers.

 

·        Serve as technical advisor in working groups related to databases technologies and analytical methodologies as needed.

 

·        Draft user requirement for enhancing analytic tools and capabilities of our domain specific data hosting application.

 

·        Provide a monthly status report covering major milestones and achievements.
