Software Engineer IV
Description of Position
Description of Work
Work closely with a program delivery
team and customers to implement system features for a newly initiated
program. Focus of the program will be on
creation of a data repository and associated systems to facilitate data mining
and pre processing of data into usable analysis formats. System alpha release is targeted for delivery
in approx 6 months with full production release targeted for delivery within 1
year. System will be designed from the
ground up. Work will be performed in an
agile development environment with 90 day spin cycles and 2 week iterations.
The team will be highly collaborative.
Specific duties:
· Assist
with design of system components
· Develop
key system components and features based on software specification and design
· Develop
unit tests for all system components (continuous build and test process)
· Work
closely with stakeholders to refine system requirements as required
· Participate
as a collaborative member of an Agile team
· Participate
in all aspects of the SCRUM process (planning, collaboration, lessons learned)
Experience
· 15 years experience in technical roles for Government
or Industry customer
· 10
years experience as a Software Engineer supporting software architecture
development, requirements analysis, and process execution and evaluation.
· Java,
Spring Framework, Eclipse, JMS
· Working
knowledge of XML
· Experience
or willingness to learn and operate in a development environment implementing
Agile Development using Scrum Methodology
· Experience
working with an Oracle database
Preferred Experience:
· Restful
interface design/development experience
· Exposure
to Agile and SCRUM methodology a plus
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in communication engineering, computer
engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, information systems,
mathematics, or similar degree, or equivalent documented combination of
training and experience.

Location: MD, Laurel/Ft Meade area
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.
