Information Assurance Engineer
Description of Position
The Standards Focus Group Support Lead is a key member of the Standards team responsible for providing subject matter expertise, research and recommendations relating to candidate Information Assurance (IA)/Security standards that would influence and be applied in the DoD/NSA domain in the area of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. This position requires organizing meetings and interacting with other IA subject matter experts in the DoD community to address standards-related IA/security IT issues and impacts, including architecture, interoperability, implementation, testing, etc. Candidates should be able to weigh the impacts and issues relating to recommending the end-of-life for various legacy IA standards and the extensive writing of documents to support this effort, including Standards Work Plan documents, Standards Selection Justification documents, DoD Information Technology Standards Registry (DISR) Change Requests (CRs). This position also requires managing a wiki to support group collaboration. The candidate will provide application support to other internal team members and contribute to the production of required contract deliverables.
Successful
candidate should possess an IA/security background for Internet Protocol (IP)
Based Networks Understanding, preferably with hands-on experience relating to
the implementation of IA/security within IT systems. Candidate should be
familiar with security protocols standards (e.g. IETF, ISO/IEC, OASIS, ITU,
RSA, NIST SP800 series, FIPS, etc.) as well as certification and accreditation
processes (DITSCAP, NISCAP, DIACAP, etc.). The candidate must have a general
knowledge of Software, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, and Business
Process standards/ protocols, especially in regard to understanding security
issues relating to these areas. The selected candidate will have knowledge of systems
engineering and Large Scale Systems integration, excellent written and verbal
communication skills and the ability to work independently, and as part of a
team that includes key IA technical personnel throughout NSA/CSS and the DoD.”

Additional Requirements
A Bachelor’s
degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related
discipline, from an accredited college.
Proficiency is desired in the
following areas:
- technical
program management and/or system development team lead; at least 50% of
this experience shall be in programs with particular relevance to SIGINT
- communications
systems and information technology
- experience
as a systems engineer in programs that encompassed system’s architecture,
requirements analysis, design, production, integration, test and
transition, and operation
- systems
engineering experience obtained in an intelligence community environment.

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.
