Systems Administrator (Linux)
Description of Position
The System Administrator (Linux) shall have as a minimum eight (8) years in system administration that includes experience with RedHat, Debian, Fedora and Suse. A Master's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Network or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; or a related field may be substituted for six (6) years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Network or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; or a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of experience.
The System Administrator (Linux) shall have a minimum of three years experience involving:
The System Administrator (Linux) shall be a Certified Cisco Network Associated (CCNA) and either a RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or RedHat Certified Technician (RHCT)
· System Administration –Solaris operation system
· Intel and SPARC base server
· Apache servers
· Email servers (e.g; Exim, Postfix, Sendmail, Qmail and Imail)
· Anti-Virus software (e.g; Clamd Antivirus, Norton Corporate Edition)
· Designing and engineering CISCO base networks
· Authentication products and techniques (e.g; TACACS, FreRADIUS, Kerberos, LDAP, and
· VMware (e.g. GSX, ESX and workstation)
· Firewalls (Netscreen, PIX, CyberGuard, IPTables, and SonicWall)
· DNS (bind)
· Statistical Programs (e.g. Oxfor LiveSTATS, Urchin, and Webalizer)
· SSH and SSL
· Software tools (e.g; Plesk, HSPcomplete, Ensim, Webmin, Cobalt and Hosting software)
Security Clearance: Top Secret with Lifestyle Polygraph
